Scholarship Overview
Undergraduate Programs:
Azim Premji University provides scholarships based on the annual family income of applicants:
100% Scholarship: For families earning less than ₹4 lakhs per annum.
75% Scholarship: For families earning between ₹4 lakhs and ₹8 lakhs per annum.
50% Scholarship: For families earning between ₹8 lakhs and ₹10 lakhs per annum.
25% Scholarship: For families earning between ₹10 lakhs and ₹15 lakhs per annum.
Note: These scholarships cover both tuition and accommodation fees throughout the duration of the course.
Postgraduate Programs:
For postgraduate students, the scholarship structure is as follows:
100% Scholarship: For families earning less than ₹2 lakhs per annum.
75% Scholarship: For families earning between ₹2 lakhs and ₹4 lakhs per annum.
50% Scholarship: For families earning between ₹4 lakhs and ₹6 lakhs per annum.
25% Scholarship: For families earning between ₹6 lakhs and ₹7 lakhs per annum.
Note: These scholarships also cover both tuition and accommodation fees.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have secured admission to an undergraduate or postgraduate program at Azim Premji University.
The annual family income should fall within the specified brackets mentioned above.
For undergraduate programs, candidates should have completed Class 12 with at least 50% marks from a recognized board.
For postgraduate programs, a bachelor's degree with the required academic qualifications is necessary.
Application Process
Indicate Interest: While filling out the admission application form, applicants should indicate their interest in applying for financial assistance.
Financial Assistance Form: Upon selection in the admission process, candidates will be required to fill out a detailed financial assistance form and submit supporting documents within a specified timeframe.
Assessment: The university's financial assistance team will assess the applicant's financial condition based on the submitted documents.
Verification: An independent verification process will be conducted to validate all financial information provided. Any discrepancies may lead to the withdrawal of the scholarship offer.
Required Documents
Applicants need to submit the following documents for the scholarship application:
Bank statements of parents and other contributing family members for the last one year.
Valid income certificate (if family income is less than ₹2.5 lakhs) from the competent statutory authority.
Last three years’ Income Tax Returns (ITR) (if family income is more than ₹2.5 lakhs).
Audited Profit and Loss account statements for the last three years (if self-employed).
Salary slips, Form 16 issued by the employer.
Medical documents, siblings’ fee receipts, and other relevant financial documents.
Important Dates
Application Deadlines:
Round 1: Opens in October; apply before 22nd November.
Round 2: Opens in January; apply before 5th March.
Note: Applying in the earliest round increases the chances of securing a scholarship.
