🎓 BHU Scholarships 2025 – Complete Guide
Banaras Hindu University (BHU) offers a wide variety of scholarships and financial aid schemes to ensure that students from all backgrounds have access to quality education. These scholarships support merit, financial need, physical ability, and academic achievement across undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and international categories.
🏅 Undergraduate Scholarships
1. Merit-Based Scholarships
Top Rank Holders:
First and second rank holders in their respective programs are awarded one-time scholarships of ₹4,000 and ₹3,000 respectively.
2. Need-Based Scholarships
Economically Weaker Sections (EWS):
100 students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds receive ₹2,000 per annum.
50 students are eligible for free meals (lunch and dinner) for a minimum of 7 months under the Free Meal Facility.
3. Special Category Scholarships
Blind Students:
Free lunch and dinner are provided under the Annadaan Yojana.
Additionally, 20 visually impaired students receive ₹5,000 per annum.
Physically Handicapped Students:
25 students receive a one-time scholarship of ₹4,000 each.

1. Academic Excellence Awards
Pyare Lal - Prem Vati Memorial Scholarship:
Awarded to the MBA student who secures the highest marks in the first-year examination. Amount: ₹10,000.S.N. Ranade Scholarship:
Offered to academically outstanding students enrolled in the MBA (Agri-Business) program.
2. Seminar and Workshop Participation
Students who organize academic seminars or workshops at the department level receive support of ₹5,000.
🧑🔬 Ph.D. Fellowships
While BHU itself does not provide university-funded Ph.D. scholarships, students can apply for external fellowships and research grants:
UGC Fellowships:
Offered to eligible Ph.D. scholars through the University Grants Commission.External Fellowships:
Students may also qualify for financial support from CSIR, DST, DBT, and other government-funded research agencies.
🌐 International Student Scholarships
BHU International Student Scholarship:
International students admitted after 2022 are eligible for a monthly stipend of ₹6,000 to help with living expenses.ICCR Scholarships:
Fully-funded scholarships by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations for foreign nationals enrolled in UG, PG, or doctoral programs at BHU.

Rail Fare Reimbursement:
Students participating in national-level seminars, academic conferences, or competitions are reimbursed for sleeper class train fare.
📋 General Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for BHU scholarships, students must meet the following conditions:
Annual family income should not exceed ₹1 lakh.
Minimum 75% class attendance.
Should not be availing any other scholarship.
Must maintain discipline and good academic standing.
