Detailed Fee Components
Tuition Fee: This is the primary component of the annual fee structure, covering access to lectures, course materials, and academic resources. It is charged per semester and remains constant throughout the program duration.
Hostel Rent: Hostels at BIMT provide comfortable living arrangements for students with shared amenities including Wi-Fi, study rooms, common areas, and 24/7 security. The rent includes utilities such as electricity, water, and internet services.
Mess Advance: Students are required to pay a mess advance at the beginning of each semester, which covers food expenses for that period. The amount is adjusted based on actual consumption at the end of the semester.
Student Benevolent Fund: This fund supports students facing financial hardships or emergencies. Contributions are minimal but essential for maintaining campus welfare and providing emergency assistance when needed.
Medical Fees: Covers access to medical facilities, health check-ups, and basic healthcare services provided by the campus hospital. Students can avail of consultations with general physicians and specialists at subsidized rates.
Gymkhana Fees: These fees fund student activities, sports events, cultural programs, and recreational facilities available on campus. They support a vibrant student life beyond academics.
Examination Fees: Covers costs associated with conducting internal and external examinations, including question paper preparation, evaluation, and result processing.
Hostel & Mess Charges
BIMT offers various types of hostels to accommodate students based on their preferences and budget. The hostel rooms are categorized into single, double, and triple occupancy options with different pricing structures.
Single Occupancy Rooms: Priced at INR 40,000 per semester, these rooms offer privacy and personal space for individual students. Amenities include a private bathroom, study table, and wardrobe.
Double Occupancy Rooms: Priced at INR 35,000 per semester, these rooms are shared between two students. The room layout includes a common living area, study space, and shared bathroom facilities.
Triple Occupancy Rooms: Priced at INR 30,000 per semester, these rooms house three students in a shared environment. They come with basic amenities such as study desks, wardrobes, and shared bathrooms.
The mess billing system operates on a monthly basis, with students pre-paying for meals based on their consumption patterns. The average daily meal cost ranges from INR 150 to INR 200 depending on the mess category.
Rebate policies are available for students who take leaves or travel during the semester. A maximum rebate of 30% is applicable for absences exceeding five days, subject to approval by hostel authorities.
Fee Waivers, Concessions, and Scholarships
BIMT offers several financial aid options to support deserving students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds:
- SC/ST/PwD Category: Students belonging to SC/ST or PwD categories are eligible for a 100% fee waiver on tuition and hostel charges. Additional concessions may be available for mess and other fees.
- EWS Category: Students from economically weaker sections receive a 50% discount on tuition fees, with partial waivers on hostel charges based on income slabs.
- MCM (Meritorious Children of Migrants): This category provides a 75% fee concession on all components of the fee structure for students whose parents are migrants and have settled in India permanently.
Eligibility criteria for scholarships include academic performance, financial background, and special achievements. Students must submit applications along with supporting documents such as income certificates, caste certificates, or disability certificates to qualify for these benefits.
Payment Procedures & Refund Policy
Students are required to make payments through online banking, debit/credit cards, or demand drafts issued by nationalized banks. Payment deadlines are strictly enforced, with late fees of INR 500 per day applied after the due date.
The official refund policy applies in cases of withdrawal from the program, transfer to another institution, or exceptional circumstances such as medical emergencies. Refunds are processed within 30 working days after submission of all required documents and approval by administrative authorities.
Students who withdraw before completing one semester are eligible for a partial refund of fees paid, minus a processing fee of INR 10,000. For withdrawals during the second semester or later, a pro-rata refund is calculated based on the number of semesters completed.
