π Overview
Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI) is a deemed-to-be university and one of Indiaβs most prestigious research-focused institutions, established by the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India. Named after the legendary Indian physicist Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha, the father of Indiaβs nuclear program, HBNI was officially recognized as a university in 2005.
Unlike conventional universities, HBNI operates as a consortium of DAE institutions, providing advanced education and research opportunities in nuclear science, engineering, medical physics, radiochemistry, life sciences, and more.
