Institute-Wide Scholarships
The Indian Institute of Remote Sensing offers several merit-based and need-based scholarships to support deserving students. The most prominent among these is the Merit Cum Means (MCM) Scholarship, which provides full tuition fee waivers to students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Additionally, there are scholarships specifically reserved for SC/ST, OBC, and PwD categories to ensure inclusive access to education. The institute also supports students through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), allowing them to apply for various national-level financial assistance programs.

Application Process
The application process for institute-wide scholarships is straightforward and conducted online through the IIRS portal. Students must submit their academic transcripts, income certificates, and a detailed statement of purpose explaining their research interests and career goals. For external scholarships, applications are usually submitted via official websites or through university portals, with specific deadlines published in advance.
Selection committees review all applications based on merit, financial need, and alignment with scholarship objectives. Final recipients are notified via email and the institute’s notice board, ensuring transparency and fairness in the selection process.
