Counseling Process
The admission process for the Science and Business Studies program follows a structured procedure managed by JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) or CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board).
Students must first qualify through the JEE Main examination to be eligible for counseling. Based on their performance, candidates are assigned ranks which determine their eligibility for seat allocation.
The counseling process begins with registration and document verification. Candidates then choose their preferred institutions and branches based on available seats and their rank position.
Seat allocation is conducted through a centralized lottery system where students are matched to available seats based on their choices, category, and rank. The final allocation is confirmed after the candidate accepts the seat offer.
For subsequent years, JoSAA/CSAB updates its procedures periodically to improve transparency and fairness in the admission process. It is essential for candidates to stay updated with official notifications regarding changes in rules or procedures.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for admission into the Science and Business Studies program, students must meet specific criteria related to academic performance and age limits.
Academic eligibility requires a minimum score of 75% in Class 12th or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects. Students from other streams may also be considered if they have completed relevant prerequisites.
Age restrictions apply for candidates appearing in JEE Main. The upper age limit is typically 25 years for General category students and 30 years for reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC). However, relaxation in age limits may be granted under certain conditions.
Candidates must also fulfill the eligibility criteria set by JoSAA/CSAB, including valid JEE Main scores, category certification, and other documentation requirements.
