Overview of Scholarship Programs
Mangalayatan University recognizes the importance of financial support in enabling students to focus on their academic pursuits. The university offers a wide range of scholarship programs, including internal funding, external grants, and corporate partnerships.
Institute-Wide Scholarships
Several merit-based scholarships are available for top-performing students:
- Mangalayatan Merit Cum Means Scholarship (MCM): Awarded to students with a minimum CGPA of 8.0 and whose family income is less than INR 3 lakhs per annum. The scholarship provides up to INR 50,000 annually for four years.
- President's Scholarship: For students securing top positions in the entrance examination. This scholarship offers full tuition fee waiver along with a monthly stipend of INR 10,000 for two years.
- Dean’s Excellence Award: Given to students who achieve a CGPA above 9.0 throughout their course. The award includes a cash prize of INR 25,000 and a certificate of recognition.
Alumni & Donor Scholarships
The university's alumni association and donor network contribute significantly to student support through targeted scholarships:
- Dr. Rajendra Prasad Memorial Scholarship: Named after the former president of India, this scholarship supports students pursuing research in artificial intelligence and data science.
- Mr. Anil Agarwal Foundation Scholarship: For students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, providing a one-time grant of INR 1 lakh for the entire course.
- Smt. Kamla Bhatia Endowment: Supports female students excelling in computer science with an annual stipend of INR 30,000.
- Mr. Ramesh Choudhary Alumni Fund: For students working on innovative projects in cybersecurity and cloud computing, offering a grant of up to INR 2 lakh.
- Dr. Sunita Patel Excellence Award: Recognizes outstanding performance in software engineering with a cash prize of INR 40,000.
Government & External Scholarships
Students are encouraged to apply for external scholarships that align with their academic achievements and career aspirations:
- PM Scholarship for Higher Education: Open to students from SC/ST/OBC categories with a minimum of 60% marks in Class XII. Provides up to INR 25,000 per annum for four years.
- UGC-BSR (University Grants Commission - Board of Scientific Research): For meritorious students in science and engineering disciplines. Offers a monthly stipend of INR 10,000 for three years.
- Google India Scholarship: Available to students from minority communities pursuing engineering degrees. Provides full funding for summer internships and a stipend of INR 50,000.
- Microsoft Research India Fellowship: For PhD students working in AI and machine learning domains. Offers financial support up to INR 2 lakhs per annum.
- IBM Academic Initiative: Provides access to IBM software tools and cloud resources for students interested in data science, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.
Application Process
To apply for any scholarship, students must submit an online application form along with supporting documents such as academic transcripts, income certificates, and recommendation letters. The application portal opens in early June each year, and the selection process includes both merit-based evaluation and interviews.
