Institute-Wide Scholarships
SAGAR IRT offers several merit-based and need-based scholarships to ensure access to quality education for all students. The institute-wide scholarships include:
- MCM Scholarship: Awarded to students with exceptional academic performance, covering 100% of tuition fees for one year.
- Merit Cum Means Scholarship: Given to top-performing students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, providing partial fee reimbursement and monthly stipends.
- SAGAR Excellence Award: Recognizes outstanding achievements in academics, research, and extracurricular activities with a cash prize of INR 50,000.
Alumni & Donor Scholarships
Several donor-funded scholarships are available specifically for students in the Computer Science & Engineering program. These include:
- Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship Fund: Named after the former Prime Minister, this scholarship supports students from minority communities with a monthly stipend of INR 3000.
- Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Memorial Foundation: Offers financial assistance to students from SC/ST categories, covering hostel and mess charges for three years.
- Shiv Nadar Foundation: Provides annual grants of INR 25,000 for research projects in emerging technologies like AI and blockchain.
- Infosys Foundation: Supports students interested in pursuing higher studies abroad with a grant of up to INR 1 lakh.
- Cybersecurity Institute Grant: For students focusing on cybersecurity, offering a stipend of INR 40,000 annually.
External Scholarships
Students are encouraged to apply for external scholarships from government and corporate bodies:
- PMKVY (Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana): Offers training and certification in digital skills with financial support up to INR 1 lakh.
- NSS Scholarship: For students engaged in community service, providing a monthly stipend of INR 2000 for one year.
- Google India Fellowship: Supports students working on AI and ML research with funding for travel and conference attendance.
- Microsoft Research Scholarship: For PhD students researching in computer science, offering a stipend of INR 50,000 per month.
- IBM Academic Initiative: Provides access to software tools and training credits for students involved in computing research.
Application Process
Applications for scholarships are typically submitted during the first week of each semester. Students must fill out online forms, upload supporting documents (mark sheets, income certificates, etc.), and submit them through the institute's portal. The selection committee reviews applications based on academic performance, financial need, and community involvement.
For donor and external scholarships, additional requirements may apply, such as interviews or research proposals. The institute provides guidance and assistance throughout the application process to ensure students meet all eligibility criteria.
