Institute-Wide Scholarships
SCGIMT offers several institute-wide scholarships to recognize academic excellence and support students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. These scholarships are awarded based on merit, performance in entrance examinations, and financial need.
- MCM Scholarship (Merit Cum Means): Awarded to top 10% of students in each semester based on academic performance and financial background. The scholarship provides up to 100% fee waiver for the academic year.
- SCGIMT Excellence Award: Given to outstanding students who demonstrate exceptional performance in academics, extracurricular activities, and leadership roles. This award includes a cash prize of INR 50,000 and recognition at college functions.
- Disability Support Scholarship: Designed for students with physical or mental disabilities, this scholarship covers tuition fees, special educational tools, and assistive devices.
Donor/Alumni Scholarships
Several donor and alumni scholarships are available to support students who show promise in their academic journey and potential for future contributions to society:
- The Satyendra Chandra Guria Memorial Scholarship: Established by the college's founder's family, this scholarship supports students from rural backgrounds pursuing technology-related fields. The award provides INR 100,000 annually for three years.
- Dr. Anurag Foundation Fellowship: Offered to meritorious students who plan to pursue higher studies abroad or research in specialized areas of computer science. The fellowship covers tuition fees and living expenses for up to two years.
- Rajendra Prasad Memorial Award: Named after a distinguished alumnus, this award supports students interested in entrepreneurship and innovation. Recipients receive INR 75,000 annually for three years to fund their startup ideas.
- Mahatma Gandhi Scholarship: Designed for students from economically weaker sections, this scholarship provides partial fee waivers and monthly stipends of INR 5,000 for two years.
- Shanti Devi Memorial Fellowship: This fellowship supports female students pursuing technology-related courses. The award includes a monthly stipend of INR 10,000 and coverage of tuition fees for four years.
Government and Corporate Scholarships
In addition to institute-specific scholarships, SCGIMT students can also apply for various government and corporate scholarships that provide financial support for education:
- PM Scholarship for Higher Education: Offered by the Government of India, this scholarship supports students from minority communities and economically weaker sections. The award provides INR 20,000 per month for two years.
- CSIR-UGC NET Fellowship: For students preparing for national-level examinations, this fellowship provides financial support for up to one year of preparation.
- National Scholarship Portal: Students can apply for scholarships through the official portal, which offers a range of awards for different categories including SC/ST, OBC, and PwD students.
- Tata Trusts Scholarships: These scholarships support students from low-income families who wish to pursue higher education in science and technology fields. The award includes tuition fee coverage and monthly stipends.
- Infosys Foundation Scholarship: This scholarship supports students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds with a focus on engineering disciplines. Recipients receive INR 150,000 annually for four years.
Application Process
The application process for scholarships at SCGIMT is straightforward and conducted through the college's online portal:
