Hostel & Mess Charges

The hostel facility at Birla Institute Of Applied Sciences offers comfortable living arrangements with modern amenities. Hostel rooms are categorized into single, double, triple, and quad occupancy options, each equipped with essential furniture, Wi-Fi connectivity, and 24/7 security.

Mess charges are collected in advance for the entire academic year and include meals across breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The mess system operates under strict hygiene standards, with daily menu planning based on nutritional balance and cultural diversity.

Rebate policies allow students to receive partial refunds for days when they do not consume meals due to illness or travel. Additionally, special dietary arrangements are available for students with specific needs, including vegetarian, Jain, and non-vegetarian options.

Fee Waivers, Concessions, and Scholarships

The institute provides various financial aid schemes to support deserving students based on income criteria and merit:

  • SC/ST/PwD Category: Students from these categories are eligible for full fee waivers, subject to verification of documents and annual income limits.
  • EWS Category: Eligible students receive a 50% reduction in tuition fees, with additional concessions for hostel and mess charges.
  • MCM (Meritorious Children of Migrant Workers): Full fee waiver is granted to students belonging to this category, ensuring equitable access to quality education.

Applications for fee concessions must be submitted within the first week of the academic year. Required documents include income certificates, caste certificates, disability certificates, and migration certificates where applicable.

Payment Procedures & Refund Policy

Students are required to make payments through online banking or NEFT/RTGS transfers to the designated account. Payment deadlines are strictly enforced to avoid late fees and administrative complications.

If a student withdraws from the program, a refund is processed according to the following rules:

  • Before First Month: Full refund minus processing fees of INR 1000.
  • After First Month but Before Half Year: Refund of 75% after deducting processing fees and administrative charges.
  • After Half Year: No refund is granted except in exceptional circumstances with approval from the administration.

Students must submit a written application for withdrawal along with supporting documents. The refund process typically takes 4-6 weeks to complete after receiving all necessary paperwork.
