Fee Components Explanation

The total fee structure includes several components, each contributing to the overall quality of education and campus life:

  • Tuition Fee: Covers the cost of instruction, access to academic resources, library services, and faculty development.
  • Hostel Rent: Provides accommodation in modern, well-equipped hostels with 24/7 security and maintenance support.
  • Mess Advance: Ensures students have access to nutritious meals through the campus mess system, which operates on a monthly billing cycle.
  • Student Benevolent Fund: Supports students facing financial difficulties or emergencies through grants and assistance programs.
  • Medical Fees: Covers basic healthcare services provided by the institute's medical center, including routine checkups and emergency treatment.
  • Gymkhana Fees: Funds recreational activities, sports facilities, and student clubs that promote physical fitness and extracurricular engagement.
  • Examination Fees: Covers administrative costs associated with conducting end-of-semester examinations and grading systems.

Hostel & Mess Charges

The hostel facilities at BIAS offer a variety of room types to accommodate different needs:

  • Single Occupancy Room: INR 60,000 per semester with private bathroom and Wi-Fi.
  • Double Occupancy Room: INR 50,000 per semester with shared bathroom and Wi-Fi.
  • Triple Occupancy Room: INR 40,000 per semester with shared facilities.

The mess system operates on a monthly billing cycle, where students pay an advance of INR 30,000 for the entire semester. This includes meals for 30 days and allows flexibility in changing meal preferences. Rebate policies are available for students who leave campus during certain periods.

Fee Waivers, Concessions, and Scholarships

Bias offers multiple financial aid options to ensure that deserving students can pursue their education without financial strain:

  • SC/ST/PwD Category: Eligible students receive a 100% waiver on tuition fees.
  • EWS Category: Students from economically weaker sections receive a 50% waiver on tuition fees.
  • MCM (Minority Community Members): A 25% concession is offered to students belonging to minority communities.

The application process for these financial aids involves submitting relevant documentation such as income certificates, caste certificates, or disability certificates. The institute reviews applications annually and provides support based on verified income slabs:

  • Income Slab 1: Below INR 2 lakh per annum – 100% waiver
  • Income Slab 2: INR 2-4 lakh per annum – 50% waiver
  • Income Slab 3: INR 4-6 lakh per annum – 25% concession

Payment Procedures & Refund Policy

All payments must be made through NEFT, RTGS, or online banking to ensure timely processing. The deadline for fee payment is the first week of each semester. Late fees are calculated at INR 1000 per day beyond the deadline.

If a student withdraws from the program before completing one semester, the refund policy applies as follows:

  • Withdrawal Before 30 Days: Full refund minus administrative charges of INR 5000.
  • Withdrawal Between 30-60 Days: 80% refund minus administrative charges.
  • Withdrawal After 60 Days: No refund is granted.
