Institute-Wide Scholarships
CIPE&T offers a range of scholarships to support deserving students financially throughout their academic journey. These scholarships are awarded based on merit, need, and community involvement.
- MCM Scholarship: Named after the institute's founder, this scholarship provides INR 50,000 annually to top-performing students who demonstrate financial need and active participation in extracurricular activities. The selection process involves a committee review of academic records, personal statements, and recommendation letters.
- President’s Merit Award: This award recognizes outstanding performance in academics and leadership. Recipients receive INR 75,000 per year for four years, covering full tuition fees plus a living allowance.
- Student Welfare Fund: A need-based scholarship covering partial or full tuition fees for students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Applications are reviewed by the Student Affairs Committee, considering family income and asset declarations.
Alumni and Donor Scholarships
The institute has established numerous donor-funded scholarships to support talented students pursuing education in petrochemical engineering. These scholarships are often tied to specific areas of study or research interests.
- Petroleum Research Foundation Fellowship: Sponsored by the alumni association, this fellowship supports research projects in catalysis and environmental applications. Recipients receive INR 100,000 annually for two years.
- Sharma Family Scholarship: Established by the family of Dr. Priya Sharma, a renowned faculty member, this scholarship is awarded to students excelling in polymer science and engineering. The award includes INR 80,000 per year for three years.
- Rajesh & Meera Patel Memorial Fund: Supports students pursuing degrees in sustainable energy systems and environmental compliance. The fund provides INR 60,000 annually for four years.
- Dr. Arvind Gupta Excellence Award: Named after the institute's former dean, this award recognizes students with exceptional entrepreneurial potential and innovation in chemical engineering.
- Dr. Vikram Singh Research Grant: For students engaged in computational modeling and simulation projects. The grant provides INR 50,000 annually for two years.
External Government and Corporate Scholarships
In addition to internal funding mechanisms, CIPE&T students are encouraged to apply for external scholarships that offer substantial financial support.
- Prime Minister's Research Fellowship (PMRF): Offered by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), this fellowship provides INR 80,000 per month for two years to meritorious students pursuing research in science and engineering.
- Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) Scholarship: Supports students preparing for careers in nuclear engineering or related fields. The scholarship covers full tuition and a monthly stipend of INR 30,000.
- Indian Council of Chemical Engineering (ICCE) Research Fellowship: Provides financial assistance to students conducting research in petrochemical processes and environmental applications.
- Toyota Scholarship Program: Offered by Toyota India, this program supports students interested in sustainable technologies and green engineering. The award includes INR 100,000 per year for three years.
- Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) Merit Scholarship: Supports students excelling in chemical engineering with a focus on energy efficiency and safety.
Application Process
The application process for scholarships at CIPE&T involves several steps:
- Eligibility Check: Students must meet specific criteria related to academic performance, financial need, and extracurricular activities.
