Hostel & Mess Charges
The hostel facilities at Department of Management Studies are designed to provide a comfortable living environment conducive to academic excellence. Hostels offer single or double occupancy rooms with essential furniture and amenities such as Wi-Fi, AC, and laundry services.
Mess billing follows a monthly system where students prepay for meals based on their consumption. The mess menu includes vegetarian options and is prepared by certified chefs following hygiene standards set by health authorities.
Rebate policies allow students to receive partial refunds if they are absent due to valid reasons such as illness or family emergencies. Applications for rebates must be submitted within 48 hours of the incident and verified by hostel authorities.
Fee Waivers, Concessions, and Scholarships
The department offers several financial aid options to support deserving students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Fee waivers are available for SC/ST/PwD candidates with income slabs below ₹2 lakh annually.
EWS category students with annual income up to ₹4 lakh are eligible for concessions in tuition fees and hostel charges. MCM (Minority Community) students receive similar benefits based on their community status and financial need.
Applications for fee waivers must be submitted along with supporting documents such as income certificates, caste certificates, and Aadhaar cards. The process is handled by the finance department and reviewed by a committee to ensure fairness and transparency.
Payment Procedures & Refund Policy
All fees must be paid within the stipulated deadlines to avoid late charges. Payments can be made through online banking, net banking, or demand draft issued in favor of Kumaun University. Students are required to retain copies of payment receipts for future reference.
Late fees are calculated at 2% per month on overdue amounts and are added to the total fee payable. Refunds are processed within 15 working days after withdrawal from the program or completion of studies, subject to deductions for any outstanding dues.
Students who wish to withdraw must submit a formal application along with necessary documentation. The refund policy allows for recovery of fees paid minus administrative charges and any applicable penalties.
