Admissions to the Electronics Program at Government Polytechnic Kaladhungi
Entrance Examination Process
The admission process for the B.Tech Electronics program at Government Polytechnic Kaladhungi is based on performance in national-level entrance examinations such as JEE Main or JEE Advanced. Candidates must appear for one of these qualifying exams and secure a valid rank to be eligible for admission.
JEE Main Admission
For admissions through JEE Main, candidates are required to register online on the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA). The registration process involves filling out personal details, educational qualifications, and uploading necessary documents such as photograph, signature, and category certificate if applicable.
After successful registration, candidates must appear for the JEE Main exam, which is conducted twice a year in January and April. The exam consists of three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, each carrying 30 questions worth 4 marks per question. There is a negative marking of 1 mark for every wrong answer.
Once the results are declared, candidates who meet the minimum qualifying marks (as per the cutoff announced by the Ministry of Education) can proceed to the counseling process where they will fill in their preferences for colleges and courses based on their ranks and category.
JEE Advanced Admission
Candidates appearing for JEE Advanced must have qualified in JEE Main with a rank within the top 2.5 lakh candidates. The exam is conducted annually by one of the IITs and includes questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at a higher level of difficulty compared to JEE Main.
After the JEE Advanced results are released, the counseling process begins, during which candidates are allocated seats based on their rank, preferences, and availability of seats in various institutions across India.
