Fee Component Explanation

Tuition Fee: The tuition fee covers access to all academic resources including lecture notes, digital libraries, and online learning platforms. It also includes administrative costs associated with managing the program.

Hostel Rent: Hostel accommodation is provided on a shared basis with amenities such as Wi-Fi, study rooms, and common areas. The rent covers utilities, maintenance, and security services.

Mess Advance: This advance covers meals for the entire academic year. Students are billed monthly based on their consumption, and any excess or deficit is adjusted accordingly.

Student Benevolent Fund: Contributions to this fund support students facing financial difficulties or emergencies during their studies. It ensures that no student is deprived of education due to unforeseen circumstances.

Medical Fees: This includes basic healthcare services, including consultations with doctors and access to medical facilities on campus.

Gymkhana Fees: These fees support the development of sports and recreational activities on campus. Students can participate in various sports clubs and events at reduced rates.

Examination Fees: Covers costs related to conducting examinations, including question paper preparation, invigilation, and result processing.

Other Charges: These include administrative expenses such as stationery, library charges, and any additional fees required for special events or activities.

Hostel & Mess Charges

Indus University Ahmedabad offers hostel accommodation with multiple room types to suit different preferences and budgets. The hostels are equipped with modern amenities including Wi-Fi, air conditioning, study halls, and 24/7 security.

Room types include:

  • Singles: Single occupancy rooms with private bathrooms and attached study spaces.
  • Doubles: Shared rooms for two students with shared bathroom facilities.
  • Triplets: Shared rooms for three students, ideal for budget-conscious students.

Mess charges are collected annually in advance. The mess provides a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, ensuring healthy and nutritious meals for all students. Billing is done monthly based on consumption, and adjustments are made at the end of the year.

Rebate policies are available for students who wish to take leave during certain periods such as holidays or special events. These rebates are calculated based on the number of days absent from hostel facilities.

Fee Waivers, Concessions, and Scholarships

The university offers several financial assistance programs to ensure that deserving students can pursue their education without financial constraints:

  • SC/ST/PwD Category: Students belonging to these categories are eligible for a 50% concession on tuition fees. Additional benefits include free hostel accommodation and meal allowances.
  • EWS Category: Students from economically weaker sections receive a 25% concession on tuition fees. They may also be considered for merit-based scholarships based on academic performance.
  • MCM (Merit Cum Means): Merit-cum-means students receive a 10% concession on tuition fees, provided their family income does not exceed INR 6 lakh per annum.

To apply for these financial aids, students must submit the necessary documents such as caste certificates, income certificates, and proof of residence. Applications are reviewed by a dedicated committee that evaluates eligibility based on the criteria outlined above.

Payment Procedures & Refund Policy

All fees must be paid within the specified deadlines set by the university. Late payments attract a penalty fee of INR 500 per day, up to a maximum of 10 days. After this period, students may face restrictions on attending classes or appearing in exams.

Refunds are processed in accordance with university regulations and are subject to approval by the finance department. Refund requests must be submitted within one month of the end of the academic year. The refund process includes verification of attendance records, completion of all dues, and submission of relevant documents.

In case of withdrawal from the program, students are entitled to a refund of tuition fees after deducting administrative charges. However, hostel and mess charges remain non-refundable unless the student vacates the hostel before the start of the academic year.
