Detailed Fee Components
Tuition Fee: Covers instruction, laboratory sessions, library access, and other academic resources. This fee is fixed annually and includes all course materials.
Hostel Rent: Includes accommodation in single or shared rooms with basic amenities such as bed, study table, chair, and wardrobe.
Mess Advance: Prepaid amount for meals during the semester. The actual billing is done at the end of the semester based on consumption.
Student Benevolent Fund: A nominal fee collected to support students facing financial difficulties or emergencies.
Medical Fees: Covers basic medical services and health check-ups conducted on campus.
Gymkhana Fees: Supports extracurricular activities including sports, cultural events, and clubs.
Examination Fees: Covers administrative costs associated with conducting semester exams and evaluation processes.
Hostel & Mess Charges
K L Polytechnic offers various hostel room types to accommodate students based on preferences and budget constraints:
- Single Occupancy Room: Comfortable, private space with attached bathroom and study area.
- Double Occupancy Room: Shared space for two students with common bathroom facilities.
- Triple Occupancy Room: Accommodation for three students sharing a common bathroom.
The mess billing system operates on a monthly basis, where students pay an advance amount and are billed at the end of each month based on actual consumption. Rebates are provided for students who do not consume meals regularly or during vacations.
Fee Waivers, Concessions, and Scholarships
Financial assistance is available to eligible candidates through various schemes:
- SC/ST/PwD Category: 100% fee waiver for students belonging to these categories.
- EWS Category: 50% fee concession based on income slab.
- MCM (Meritorious Children of Migrant Workers): 75% fee concession with additional support for tuition and books.
To apply, students must submit relevant documents including caste certificates, income proofs, and migration certificates. Applications are processed by the finance department within 15 working days.
Payment Procedures & Refund Policy
All fees must be paid online through the official portal using debit/credit cards or net banking. Late payments attract a penalty of Rs. 500 per day until full payment is made.
If a student withdraws from the program, the refund policy applies as follows:
- Within First Month: Full refund minus processing fees (Rs. 2000).
- Between One and Three Months: Refund of 75% after deducting Rs. 3000.
- Beyond Three Months: No refund is allowed unless there are extenuating circumstances approved by the administration.
