Component-wise Explanation of Fees
The fee structure includes several components designed to support the holistic development of students:
- Tuition Fee: Covers instruction, academic resources, and access to libraries and databases.
- Hostel Rent: Provides accommodation in air-conditioned hostels with common areas, study rooms, and security measures.
- Mess Advance: Ensures students have adequate food facilities throughout the semester.
- Student Benevolent Fund: Supports students facing financial hardships through emergency grants and scholarships.
- Medical Fees: Covers basic medical services available on campus, including consultations and minor treatments.
- Gymkhana Fees: Funds sports facilities, cultural events, and extracurricular activities.
- Examination Fees: Includes costs associated with conducting exams, evaluating answers, and issuing certificates.
Hostel & Mess Charges
Manav Bharti University Solan offers multiple hostel options to accommodate students from different backgrounds:
- AC Hostels (Single Bed): ₹25,000 per semester
- AC Hostels (Double Bed): ₹20,000 per semester
- Non-AC Hostels (Single Bed): ₹15,000 per semester
- Non-AC Hostels (Double Bed): ₹12,000 per semester
Mess charges are included in the advance payment and cover meals for all days of the week. Rebates are available for students who do not use certain services or who meet specific eligibility criteria.
Fee Waivers, Concessions, and Scholarships
The university offers various financial assistance schemes to eligible students:
- SC/ST/PwD Category: 100% waiver on tuition fee and partial waiver on hostel rent and mess charges based on income slab.
- EWS Category: 50% waiver on tuition fee and full waiver on hostel rent for students from economically weaker sections.
- MCM (Minority Community Member): 25% waiver on tuition fee and partial waiver on hostel charges.
Eligibility criteria are reviewed annually based on government guidelines and the student’s annual income. Applications can be submitted online through the university portal with supporting documents such as caste certificates, income proof, and Aadhaar card.
Payment Procedures & Refund Policy
Payments must be made within 7 days of receiving the invoice. Late payments incur a penalty of ₹500 per day until the balance is cleared. Refunds are processed only upon withdrawal from the university or completion of the program, subject to certain conditions.
The refund policy includes:
- Full refund if withdrawal occurs within 15 days of admission.
- Partial refund (80%) if withdrawal happens between 16-30 days of admission.
- No refund after 30 days of admission unless the case is exceptional and approved by the administration.
All refunds are credited to the student’s bank account within 45 days of submission of necessary documentation. The university does not refund examination fees or medical charges due to their nature and fixed usage period.
