Fee Structure Overview

The fee structure for the Mechanical Engineering program at Mata Gujri University Kishangunj is designed to be transparent and affordable. The total cost covers tuition, hostel, mess, examinations, and other essential services provided by the university.

Detailed Fee Components

Tuition Fee: Covers instruction, laboratory sessions, and access to digital resources including online libraries and research databases.

Hostel Rent: Includes accommodation in single or double occupancy rooms with amenities such as Wi-Fi, laundry services, and 24/7 security.

Mess Advance: Prepaid meal charges covering three meals per day, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Monthly billing occurs at the end of each month.

Student Benevolent Fund: A voluntary contribution to support students facing financial difficulties or emergencies.

Medical Fees: Covers basic healthcare services available on campus, including consultations with general physicians and access to diagnostic tests.

Hostel & Mess Charges

Mess charges vary based on meal plans selected by students. The standard plan includes three meals per day, while premium options offer additional snacks or special dishes. Monthly billing occurs at the end of each month, with deductions from the advance amount.

Rebate policies are available for students who opt out of mess services during specific periods, such as during internships or research projects. These rebates are calculated proportionally based on the number of days missed.

Fee Waivers, Concessions, and Scholarships

The university offers several fee waiver options to support financially disadvantaged students:

• SC/ST/PwD Students: 100% concession in tuition fees and hostel rent
• EWS Students: 50% concession in tuition fees and hostel rent
• MCM (Minority Community Members): 25% concession in tuition fees

Eligibility criteria for these benefits are based on income slabs provided by the government. Applicants must submit relevant documents such as caste certificates, income certificates, or PwD disability certificates during admission.

Scholarships are also available for meritorious students who score above 80% in their qualifying examination and demonstrate financial need. These scholarships cover up to 75% of tuition fees annually.

Payment Procedures & Refund Policy

All payments must be made through online banking or debit/credit cards before the deadline specified by the university. Late payments attract a penalty fee of INR 100 per day until the due date is met.

Refunds are processed within 30 days after withdrawal from the university, subject to certain conditions:

• Students must submit a written request for refund along with original receipts
• Refund amounts are calculated based on the number of semesters completed
• Penalties may be deducted for early withdrawals or incomplete procedures
