Fee Components Explanation
Tuition Fee: This is the primary component covering instruction, laboratory sessions, library access, and other academic services. It includes course materials, digital resources, and administrative support.
Hostel Rent: Hostel accommodation is provided for all students to ensure a conducive living environment conducive to studies. The rent varies based on room type and amenities offered.
Mess Advance: Students are required to pay an advance for mess services, which covers meals for the entire semester. The amount is adjusted at the end of each month based on consumption.
Student Benevolent Fund: A small contribution towards a fund that supports students in need, including those facing financial hardships or emergency situations.
Medical Fees: Covers basic medical check-ups, consultations, and emergency healthcare services available on campus. This ensures student health and well-being throughout their academic journey.
Gymkhana Fees: These fees support sports activities, fitness programs, and extracurricular events organized by the student union and gymkhana committee.
Examination Fees: Covers costs associated with conducting internal assessments, external examinations, and result processing.
Hostel & Mess Charges
Mittal Institute of Technology offers several types of hostel rooms to accommodate different preferences and budgets. The options include single occupancy rooms, double occupancy rooms, triple occupancy rooms, and quad occupancy rooms.
Single occupancy rooms are equipped with a bed, study table, wardrobe, and air conditioning, while shared rooms offer basic amenities at competitive rates. All rooms come with internet connectivity, Wi-Fi access, and 24/7 security services.
The mess billing system operates on a monthly basis, where students pay an advance for meals based on their consumption. The cost includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. Rebate policies are available for students who miss meals due to illness or other valid reasons.
Fee Waivers, Concessions, and Scholarships
Several financial assistance options are available for eligible students:
- SC/ST/PwD Students: Eligible students receive a 100% waiver on tuition fees and a 50% rebate on hostel rent.
- EWS Category Students: Receive a 75% waiver on tuition fees and a 30% rebate on hostel rent.
- MCM (Minority Community Members): Eligible students get a 50% waiver on tuition fees and a 20% rebate on hostel rent.
The application process for fee waivers involves submitting relevant documents such as caste certificates, income certificates, disability certificates, or other supporting evidence. The eligibility criteria are reviewed by the financial aid committee to ensure fairness and transparency.
Payment Procedures & Refund Policy
Payments must be made through online modes such as NEFT, RTGS, UPI, or credit/debit cards. Late payments attract a penalty of INR 500 per day beyond the due date.
In case of withdrawal from the program, refund rules are applied as follows:
- Before First Semester: Full refund minus processing fees.
- After First Semester: Refund of tuition fee after deducting 20% administrative charges.
- After Completion of First Year: No refund will be processed unless there are exceptional circumstances.
All refunds are processed within 30 days from the date of application, subject to verification and approval by the concerned authorities.
