Fee Components Explained
Tuition Fee: The tuition fee covers instruction, course materials, laboratory access, and administrative services. It is paid annually and includes all academic resources necessary for learning.
Hostel Rent: Accommodation is provided in well-furnished hostels with basic amenities. Hostel rent varies based on room type (single, double, triple sharing) and includes utilities like electricity, water, internet, and maintenance services.
Mess Advance: The mess advance covers meal expenses for the semester. Students pay an upfront amount which is adjusted against actual consumption during the period.
Student Benevolent Fund: This fund supports students facing financial difficulties or emergencies, contributing to a collective pool that helps members in need.
Medical Fees: Medical facilities are available on campus for routine checkups and emergency care. The fee covers registration and treatment costs within the university hospital.
Gymkhana Fees: These fees support extracurricular activities, sports events, cultural programs, and student welfare initiatives organized by the university.
Examination Fees: Examination fees cover the cost of conducting end-term exams, including question paper preparation, evaluation, and result processing.
Hostel & Mess Charges
The university maintains three types of hostels for students: Single, Double, and Triple sharing rooms. Each room is equipped with essential furniture like beds, study tables, chairs, wardrobes, and fans. Shared bathrooms and common areas are also available.
For mess charges, students can choose between standard and premium meal plans. The standard plan includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner, while the premium plan offers additional snacks and beverages. Monthly bills are calculated based on actual consumption, with adjustments made at the end of each month.
Rebate policies are applicable for students who take leaves or go on academic projects. For example, a student on leave for one week will receive a partial rebate on hostel rent and mess charges. Late payments attract late fees, which are added to the monthly bill.
Fee Waivers, Concessions, and Scholarships
The university offers various financial assistance programs to eligible students:
- SC/ST/PwD Category: Students belonging to SC/ST or PwD categories are entitled to a 50% concession in tuition fees.
- EWS Category: Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) students receive a 25% concession in tuition fees.
- MCM (Meritorious Children of Migrant Workers): MCM category students get a 10% concession in tuition fees.
Additionally, the university provides merit-based scholarships for top-performing students. The scholarship amount ranges from INR 5000 to INR 20000 per semester based on CGPA and performance in class tests.
To apply for fee waivers or concessions, students must submit relevant documents such as caste certificates, income proofs, disability certificates, or migration certificates. Applications are reviewed by the financial aid committee, and approved students receive notifications via email and SMS.
Payment Procedures & Refund Policy
Students can make payments through online banking, debit cards, credit cards, or net banking facilities provided by the university. Payments must be completed before the deadline specified each semester to avoid late fees.
For students who need to withdraw from the program, the refund policy applies as follows:
- Withdrawal before 15 days of admission: Full refund minus administrative charges.
- Withdrawal between 15-30 days of admission: Refund of 75% after deducting administrative charges.
- Withdrawal after 30 days of admission: No refund is issued except in exceptional circumstances approved by the administration.
Refunds are processed within 30 working days after receiving the withdrawal request. Students must ensure that all dues including hostel and mess charges are settled before processing refunds.
