Detailed Fee Components

Each component of the fee structure serves a specific purpose in supporting student education and campus life:

Tuition Fee

The tuition fee covers instruction costs, laboratory access, library resources, and administrative overheads associated with the Environmental Engineering program. It is subject to annual revision based on institutional policies and regulatory guidelines.

Hostel Rent

Hostel accommodation provides students with a safe and conducive living environment conducive to academic success. The rent includes basic amenities such as beds, wardrobes, desks, and common areas like lounges and study halls.

Mess Advance

The mess advance is a prepayment towards monthly food expenses in the campus cafeteria. It ensures that students have uninterrupted access to nutritious meals without worrying about daily transactions.

Student Benevolent Fund

This fund supports students facing financial hardships or emergencies. Contributions help cover unforeseen expenses such as medical emergencies, family crises, or unexpected academic needs.

Medical Fees

Medical fees provide access to healthcare services on campus and nearby clinics. They ensure that students can seek timely medical attention without incurring significant out-of-pocket expenses.

Gymkhana Fees

These fees support extracurricular activities, sports facilities, cultural events, and student organizations. They contribute to a well-rounded educational experience beyond academics.

Examination Fees

Examination fees cover the costs associated with conducting semester-end assessments, including paper preparation, invigilation, and result processing. They ensure fair and transparent evaluation processes.

Hostel & Mess Charges

The college offers various room types in its hostel facilities to accommodate different preferences and budgets:

  • Single Occupancy Room: INR 25,000 per semester (Includes air conditioning, internet, and basic furniture)
  • Double Occupancy Room: INR 18,000 per semester (Includes shared facilities with one roommate)
  • Triple Occupancy Room: INR 15,000 per semester (Shared accommodation for three students)

The mess billing system operates on a monthly basis. Students receive their monthly meal allowance through the hostel administration, which is deducted from their mess advance account.

Rebate policies are applicable for students who do not consume meals regularly or take breaks during certain periods. These rebates are processed at the end of each month based on actual consumption data.

Fee Waivers, Concessions, and Scholarships

To support financially disadvantaged students, Balwant Singh Mukhiya Bsm College Of Engineering offers various fee waivers and concessions:

  • SC/ST/PwD Category: 100% waiver for tuition fees with partial concession on hostel charges (50%)
  • EWS Category: 50% waiver for tuition fees with 25% concession on hostel charges
  • MCM (Meritorious Children of Migrant Workers): 75% waiver for tuition fees with full concession on hostel charges

Eligibility criteria for these benefits are based on income slabs and family background. Applications must be submitted along with supporting documents such as income certificates, caste certificates, or disability certificates.

Payment Procedures & Refund Policy

Payments can be made through online banking, NEFT/RTGS, debit cards, credit cards, or cash at the college office. A deadline of 10 days after the start of each semester must be adhered to for timely admission processing.

Late fees are charged at a rate of INR 500 per day for delayed payments beyond the due date. Refunds are processed only upon withdrawal from the program, subject to specific conditions and timelines.

Refund rules specify that tuition fees are non-refundable except in cases of admission cancellation or transfer to another institution. Hostel charges are refunded proportionally based on actual stay duration, minus a processing fee of INR 1000.
