Hostel & Mess Charges
The hostel accommodation at Birla Institute of Management Technology is designed to provide a comfortable living environment for students. Rooms come in different configurations—single, double, or triple occupancy—with shared bathrooms and common areas.
Mess facilities operate on a prepaid system where students pay an advance amount before the start of each semester. The billing cycle adjusts according to actual consumption, ensuring fair distribution of costs.
Rebate policies are available for students who do not consume meals regularly or for those facing temporary financial difficulties. These rebates can be applied after submission of relevant documentation and approval from hostel authorities.
Fee Waivers, Concessions, and Scholarships
The institute offers various financial assistance programs to support deserving students. Eligibility criteria are based on family income slabs and academic performance:
- SC/ST/PwD Category: Income slab up to INR 4 lakhs; full fee waiver available.
- EWS Category: Income slab up to INR 8 lakhs; partial fee concession of 50%.
- MCM (Minority Community): Income slab up to INR 6 lakhs; 25% fee concession.
Applications for scholarships must be submitted online during the admission process or within the first month of enrollment. Supporting documents include income certificates, caste certificates (for SC/ST), and disability certificates (for PwD).
Payment Procedures & Refund Policy
Payments are made through net banking, debit cards, credit cards, or NEFT transfers. All transactions must be completed by the specified deadline to avoid late fees.
Late fees are charged at 5% of the outstanding amount per month, capped at a maximum of INR 10,000. Refunds are processed only after verifying the withdrawal application and settling any dues.
In case of course withdrawal, refunds are calculated based on the number of days attended and deducted accordingly. Full refunds are not granted unless the student withdraws before the commencement of the semester.
