  • Maternal and Child Health: Covers prenatal care, labor and delivery processes, neonatal nursing, and child development stages. Emphasis is placed on family-centered care and community-based interventions.
  • Emergency and Critical Care: Provides training in trauma management, ICU protocols, life support systems, and rapid response teams. Students gain hands-on experience with ventilators, cardiac monitors, and emergency medications.
  • Geriatric Nursing: Explores aging processes, chronic disease management, cognitive impairments, and end-of-life care. The course includes ethical considerations and palliative care approaches tailored to elderly patients.
  • Occupational Health Nursing: Addresses workplace hazards, injury prevention, employee wellness programs, and regulatory compliance. Students study occupational exposure risks and develop health promotion strategies.
  • Community Health Nursing: Focuses on community assessment, health education campaigns, immunization programs, and public policy influences on health outcomes. Emphasizes population-based interventions and social determinants of health.
  • Cardiovascular Nursing: Covers heart anatomy, arrhythmias, cardiac surgeries, and cardiovascular medications. Students learn to monitor patients post-surgery and assess complications using ECGs and echocardiograms.
  • Neurological Nursing: Examines nervous system disorders, neuroimaging interpretation, seizure management, and rehabilitation techniques. Includes case studies involving stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and spinal cord injuries.
  • Oncology Nursing: Trains students in cancer diagnosis, chemotherapy administration, radiation therapy support, and psychosocial aspects of oncology care. Focuses on symptom management and survivorship planning.
  • Infection Control and Prevention: Reviews infection transmission mechanisms, isolation precautions, antimicrobial stewardship, and outbreak response protocols. Students participate in real-time simulations to detect and manage infectious disease outbreaks.

Project-Based Learning Philosophy

Our department strongly advocates for project-based learning as a means of fostering critical thinking, collaboration, and real-world application of nursing knowledge. Projects are integrated throughout the curriculum to ensure students develop competencies in research design, data analysis, and evidence-based practice.

Mini-projects begin in early semesters and involve small groups working on specific health issues or care delivery models. These projects are evaluated based on clarity of objectives, methodology, findings, and presentation quality. Faculty mentors guide students through each phase of the project lifecycle.

The final-year capstone project allows students to conduct an independent research study or implement a community-based initiative under faculty supervision. The scope of these projects is determined by student interest and alignment with current healthcare challenges. Students must present their findings at departmental symposiums and submit a comprehensive report for evaluation.
