Fee Components Explained

Tuition Fee: Covers academic instruction, library access, laboratory facilities, and administrative costs associated with the program. This fee is revised annually based on government guidelines and institutional expenses.

Hostel Rent: Provides accommodation for students residing on campus. The rent includes utilities, maintenance, security, and common area services. Hostels are equipped with modern amenities to ensure a comfortable living environment.

Mess Advance: Prepaid monthly charges for meals in the hostel mess. This amount covers breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the month and is adjusted at the end of each billing cycle.

Student Benevolent Fund: A voluntary contribution towards scholarships, financial aid, and support for economically disadvantaged students. The fund supports extracurricular activities, cultural events, and student welfare initiatives.

Medical Fees: Covers basic healthcare services, including consultations, medicine dispensing, and emergency care at the campus medical center.

Gymkhana Fees: Supports physical fitness programs, sports equipment maintenance, and recreational activities. Students can participate in various sports clubs and fitness sessions funded through this fee.

Examination Fees: Covers costs related to conducting exams, evaluating answer scripts, issuing certificates, and maintaining examination records.

Hostel & Mess Charges

The hostel accommodation at Government Polytechnic Tanakpur offers various room types to suit different preferences and budgets. Options include single, double, triple, and quad occupancy rooms with shared bathrooms and common areas.

Each room is equipped with basic amenities such as beds, study tables, wardrobes, fans, and internet connectivity. The hostel management ensures regular cleaning, maintenance, and safety measures to maintain a conducive living environment.

The mess billing system operates on a monthly cycle, with students paying an advance for the upcoming month. Meals are served in a hygienic setup, following strict food safety protocols. Students can choose between vegetarian and non-vegetarian options based on their preferences.

Rebate policies allow students to receive partial refunds if they stay off-campus during certain periods or participate in academic events that require travel. These rebates are calculated based on the number of days absent from hostel facilities.

Fee Waivers, Concessions, and Scholarships

The institution offers several financial aid options to support students from economically weaker sections. Eligibility criteria for these schemes are defined based on family income, caste, disability status, and other relevant factors.

SC/ST/PwD Category: Students belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, or persons with disabilities receive a 50% concession in tuition fees and full waiver of hostel rent.

EWS Category: Economically Weaker Section students qualify for a 25% discount on tuition fees and partial waiver of hostel charges.

MCM (Married Children of Military Personnel): This category receives a 20% reduction in tuition fee and full waiver of examination fees.

Scholarships are awarded based on merit, performance, and financial need. Applications for scholarships must be submitted annually with supporting documents such as income certificates, caste certificates, and academic transcripts.

Payment Procedures & Refund Policy

Payments can be made through online banking, net banking, NEFT/RTGS, debit cards, or credit cards. The payment deadline for each semester is set by the administration and communicated via official notices.

Late payments attract a penalty fee of INR 500 per day beyond the due date. Students are advised to make timely payments to avoid disruptions in their academic activities.

Refund policies apply when students withdraw from the program or transfer to another institution. Refunds are processed within 30 days of submission, subject to verification and deduction of applicable fees.
