Detailed Fee Components
Each component of the fee structure is explained below:
Tuition Fee
The tuition fee covers instruction costs for all core courses, departmental electives, and access to digital learning platforms. It includes lectures, laboratory sessions, project guidance, and administrative overheads associated with running the program.
Hostel Rent
Hostel accommodation is provided within the campus premises, ensuring safety and convenience for students. Room types include single occupancy, double occupancy, and triple occupancy rooms with basic amenities such as beds, study tables, and internet connectivity.
Mess Advance
The mess advance is collected at the beginning of each semester to cover meal expenses throughout the academic term. The mess billing system operates on a monthly cycle with adjustments based on actual consumption or attendance.
Student Benevolent Fund
This fund supports students facing financial hardships or emergencies. Contributions are voluntary and used for scholarships, medical assistance, and other welfare programs within the student community.
Medical Fees
The medical fees cover healthcare services provided by the institute’s on-campus health center, including consultations, diagnostic tests, medications, and emergency treatments.
Gymkhana Fees
Gymkhana fees support extracurricular activities, sports facilities, cultural events, and student clubs. These funds ensure a well-rounded educational experience beyond academics.
Examination Fees
Examination fees cover the cost of conducting internal assessments, end-term exams, practical evaluations, and result processing. This includes grading systems, invigilation, and administrative support for exam administration.
Hostel & Mess Charges
IIRS provides comfortable hostel accommodations with various room options to suit different preferences and budgets:
- Single Occupancy Room: ₹25,000 per annum (Includes all utilities)
- Double Occupancy Room: ₹18,000 per annum (Shared facilities)
- Triple Occupancy Room: ₹12,000 per annum (Shared facilities)
The mess billing system operates on a pre-paid basis, where students pay monthly advances covering meals for the entire month. Adjustments are made at the end of each month based on actual consumption or missed meals.
Fee Waivers, Concessions, and Scholarships
The institute offers several fee waiver schemes and financial assistance programs to support economically disadvantaged students:
- SC/ST/PwD Category: 100% concession on tuition fees and 50% on hostel charges
- EWS Category: 50% concession on tuition fees and 30% on hostel charges
- MCM (Minority Community Member): 25% concession on tuition fees and 15% on hostel charges
Eligibility for these schemes is determined based on income slabs as defined by the government. Students must submit relevant certificates and documents during the admission process or at the time of fee payment.
Payment Procedures & Refund Policy
All payments are made through online modes including net banking, credit/debit cards, and NEFT/RTGS transfers. The deadline for fee submission is usually one week after the start of each semester to avoid late fees.
Late fees are calculated at 1% per day on outstanding balances beyond the due date. Students who withdraw from the program must apply for a refund within six months of withdrawal, subject to deductions for administrative costs and hostel charges.
Refunds are processed within 30 working days after verification of documents. Full refunds are granted only if the student has completed the academic year and paid all dues. Partial refunds may be considered in exceptional cases such as migration or transfer to another institution.
