Fee Component Details
Tuition Fee: Covers the cost of instruction, laboratory sessions, and access to academic resources such as libraries, online databases, and software licenses.
Hostel Rent: Provides accommodation for students within the campus. The hostel rooms are equipped with basic amenities including beds, study tables, wardrobes, and internet connectivity.
Mess Advance: A one-time payment made at the beginning of each semester to cover meal expenses for that period. Students can adjust their mess bills based on actual consumption during the semester.
Student Benevolent Fund: Contributes to student welfare activities, scholarships, and emergency assistance programs for financially disadvantaged students.
Medical Fees: Covers medical services available on campus, including routine checkups, first aid, and access to nearby healthcare facilities.
Gymkhana Fees: Supports sports and recreational activities, including gym membership, fitness programs, and participation in inter-college competitions.
Examination Fees: Covers costs associated with conducting end-of-semester exams, including proctoring, question paper preparation, and result processing.
Hostel & Mess Charges
The hostel facilities at K L Polytechnic are designed to provide a comfortable living environment for students. There are multiple room types available:
- Single Room: For one student, equipped with a bed, study table, wardrobe, and internet access.
- Double Room: Shared by two students, featuring similar amenities as single rooms but with shared bathroom facilities.
- Triple Room: Accommodates three students, offering a balance between privacy and cost-effectiveness.
The mess system operates on a monthly billing cycle. Students are charged based on their consumption, with a fixed meal allowance provided during the initial period. Rebate policies are available for students who do not consume meals regularly or those facing financial hardships.
Fee Waivers, Concessions, and Scholarships
The university offers various fee waivers and concessions to eligible students based on income criteria and other factors:
- SC/ST/PwD Category: Students from SC/ST or PwD categories receive a 100% waiver on tuition fees and a 50% concession on hostel rent.
- EWS Category: Eligible students receive a 50% waiver on tuition fees and a 30% concession on hostel rent.
- MCM (Minority Community Member): Students from minority communities receive a 25% waiver on tuition fees and a 20% concession on hostel rent.
Applications for these concessions must be submitted along with supporting documents such as caste certificates, income proofs, and disability certificates. The university evaluates each application on a case-by-case basis to ensure fairness and transparency.
Payment Procedures & Refund Policy
Fees can be paid online via net banking, credit/debit cards, or UPI applications. Late payments attract a penalty fee of INR 500 per day until the dues are cleared. The refund policy applies to students who withdraw from the program before completing one semester, with deductions made for administrative costs and hostel charges.
