Fee Structure

The total fee for the Law program at NMV University Virudhunagar is structured over three years. The following table provides a detailed breakdown of charges per semester:

Tuition Fee: Covers the cost of instruction, including faculty salaries, curriculum development, and academic resources. This fee is fixed for the duration of the program.

Hostel Rent: The hostel accommodation fee varies based on room type (single, double, triple). Students can choose from different tiers of comfort depending on their budget and preferences.

Mess Advance: This is a monthly advance paid towards meal expenses. The mess charges are calculated based on actual consumption and adjusted accordingly at the end of each month.

Student Benevolent Fund: A nominal amount contributes to supporting students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds through scholarships, grants, and emergency aid.

Medical Fees: Covers basic medical services available on campus, including consultations with doctors, vaccinations, and minor treatments.

Gymkhana Fees: Supports sports activities, fitness programs, and recreational facilities provided by the university's gymkhana committee.

Examination Fees: Covers the cost of conducting exams, maintaining exam centers, and evaluating answer scripts.

Hostel & Mess Charges

The university offers multiple hostel options with varying levels of amenities. Room types include single occupancy, double occupancy, and triple occupancy rooms equipped with basic furniture, Wi-Fi access, and 24/7 security.

Mess charges are based on the number of meals consumed each day. Students are required to pay an advance for the month, which is adjusted at the end of the month according to actual consumption.

Rebate policies are available for students who stay off campus during certain periods, such as holidays or short-term internships. These rebates are applied after review by the hostel administration and approval from the finance department.

Fee Waivers, Concessions, and Scholarships

The university provides several financial aid options to ensure accessibility for deserving students:

• Merit Scholarships: Awarded to top-performing students based on academic performance and extracurricular achievements. The scholarship ranges from 25% to 100% of tuition fees.
• Need-based Aid: Available for students from low-income families, with eligibility criteria based on annual household income slabs.
• SC/ST/PwD Concessions: Special concessions are provided to students belonging to reserved categories, including reduced tuition fees and additional support services.
• EWS Scholarships: Financial assistance for economically weaker sections, with specific eligibility criteria and income thresholds.
• MCM (Meritorious Children of Migrant Workers): Support for children of migrant workers who have excelled academically despite challenging circumstances.

All applications for scholarships must be submitted through the university portal along with necessary documents such as income certificates, academic transcripts, and affidavits. The selection process is conducted by a committee comprising faculty members and administrative staff.

Payment Procedures & Refund Policy

Fees are to be paid online via net banking or credit/debit card through the university’s official payment gateway. Students must ensure timely payment to avoid late fees and penalties.

Late payments attract a penalty of INR 500 per day, up to a maximum of INR 5000. However, students may apply for fee concessions in exceptional cases with supporting documentation.

Refunds are processed upon withdrawal from the university, subject to certain conditions. A refund of tuition fees is available after deducting administrative charges and penalties. Hostel deposits and mess advances are refunded upon clearance of hostel accounts and final settlement of mess bills.

Students who wish to withdraw must submit a formal application to the principal with reasons for withdrawal. The refund process begins only after verification of all dues and compliance with university policies.
