Project-Based Learning Philosophy
The Department of Nursing at Om Sterling Global University Hisar believes that project-based learning is essential for developing competent and confident nursing professionals. This approach allows students to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios, fostering critical thinking, collaboration, and innovation.
The program incorporates both mini-projects and a final-year thesis/capstone project as part of the curriculum. Mini-projects are undertaken during the second and third years, allowing students to explore specific areas of interest under faculty supervision. These projects often involve conducting literature reviews, designing research proposals, or implementing small-scale interventions in clinical settings.
The capstone project is a comprehensive, independent research endeavor that students undertake in their final year. It requires students to identify a relevant healthcare problem, design a study, collect and analyze data, and present findings to peers and faculty members. The project culminates in a formal presentation and defense before a panel of experts.
Students are encouraged to choose projects aligned with their career interests or areas where they wish to specialize. Faculty mentors guide students throughout the process, ensuring that projects meet academic standards while addressing real-world healthcare challenges.
