Fee Structure

The total program cost at Roorkee Institute Of Technology is structured to provide value for money while ensuring access to world-class education and campus amenities. The fees are divided into semester-wise components with clear categorization of one-time and recurring charges.

Fee Component Breakdown

• Tuition Fee: Covers instruction, course materials, lab access, and administrative services.
• Hostel Rent: Includes accommodation in fully furnished rooms with common facilities.
• Mess Advance: Paid at the beginning of each semester to cover food expenses for 3 months.
• Student Benevolent Fund: A nominal contribution towards student welfare programs and scholarships.
• Medical Fees: Covers basic healthcare services provided by the campus health center.
• Gymkhana Fees: Supports sports activities, fitness equipment maintenance, and gym access.
• Examination Fees: Covers examination registration, invigilation, and result processing costs.

Hostel & Mess Charges

Roorkee offers multiple hostel options to accommodate different preferences and budgets:

• Single Room (AC): INR 12000/month
• Double Room (AC): INR 6000/month
• Triple Room (Non-AC): INR 3500/month
• Quad Room (Non-AC): INR 2500/month

Mess charges vary based on meal plans and include breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Monthly mess bills are calculated based on consumption records and adjusted accordingly.

Fee Waivers, Concessions, and Scholarships

Roorkee provides several financial assistance options for eligible students:

• SC/ST/PwD Category: 100% waiver on tuition fees with partial rebate on hostel charges.
• EWS Category: 50% waiver on tuition fees and full exemption from mess advance.
• MCM (Married Children of Military Personnel): 50% waiver on tuition fees and complete exemption from hostel charges.

Income slabs for scholarship eligibility are as follows:

• Below INR 2 Lakh/year: Full Scholarship
• INR 2–4 Lakh/year: 50% Scholarship
• INR 4–6 Lakh/year: 25% Scholarship

Applications for fee waivers must be submitted online with supporting documents. The process includes verification and approval by the Finance Committee.

Payment Procedures & Refund Policy

All fees must be paid through online banking or NEFT/RTGS transfers to the institute’s official account. Payment deadlines are strictly enforced:

• Deadline for Semester Fees: 7 days from the start of the semester.
• Late Fee: INR 500/day beyond deadline unless waived by the Finance Department.

In case of withdrawal, refunds are processed according to the following policy:

• Withdrawal within 1 month: 90% refund
• Withdrawal between 1–3 months: 75% refund
• Withdrawal after 3 months: No refund

The refund is processed within 45 days of submission of the withdrawal request and associated documentation.
