Admission Process
The Information Technology program at SHA SHIB COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY accepts applications through national-level entrance examinations such as JEE Advanced and JEE Main, with some flexibility for students who have completed their qualifying examination in state-level boards. The admission process is highly competitive and involves multiple stages from application submission to final seat acceptance.
Application Stage
Candidates must first register online through the official SHA SHIB COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY portal or the respective national exam portals (JEE Advanced, JEE Main). During registration, applicants are required to provide personal details, academic history, and upload scanned copies of necessary documents such as Aadhaar card, passport-size photograph, and qualifying examination certificates.
After successful registration, candidates must complete the application form with accurate information. The application fee varies depending on the category (General, SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS, PwD) and gender. Payment can be made online using debit/credit cards or net banking facilities.
Exam Stage
Eligible candidates who have appeared in JEE Advanced or JEE Main are evaluated based on their performance in the entrance examination. The scores are normalized to ensure fairness across different paper sets and years. For JEE Advanced, the score is calculated using a formula that considers the difficulty level of each section and the candidate's rank within their category.
For JEE Main, candidates must meet the minimum qualifying criteria set by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The cutoff scores vary every year based on the number of applicants, the difficulty of the exam, and the overall performance. Candidates who score above the minimum threshold are eligible to participate in the counseling process.
Seat Allocation
The seat allocation is conducted through a centralized counseling system managed by SHA SHIB COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY in coordination with other participating institutions. The process follows a merit-based ranking system where candidates are allocated seats based on their entrance exam scores and preferences indicated during the counseling phase.
Each candidate must fill out a choice list of preferred courses and institutions. Based on the merit rank, available seats, and preference order, candidates are allotted to programs according to the availability. If a candidate is not satisfied with the allocated seat, they can opt for the next round of counseling or waitlist options.
Final Acceptance
Once a seat is allocated, candidates must confirm their acceptance by paying the required fees within the stipulated time frame. The confirmation process includes verification of documents and finalization of the admission. Candidates who do not complete the payment or fail to appear for document verification are deemed to have withdrawn their application.
