Fee Components Explained
The fee structure is designed to cover all essential expenses related to education and campus life:
- Tuition Fee: Covers instruction, laboratory access, and academic materials.

Hostel & Mess Charges
Government Polytechnic Tanakpur offers hostel facilities with different room types:
- Single Occupancy Room: Rs. 10,000/month
- Double Occupancy Room: Rs. 7,000/month
- Triple Occupancy Room: Rs. 5,000/month
The mess system operates on a monthly billing cycle with meals provided for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Meals are served in a hygienic environment with nutritious options. Rebate policies are available for students who have missed meals due to illness or other valid reasons.
Fee Waivers, Concessions, and Scholarships
Financial assistance is available through various schemes:
- SC/ST/PwD Category: 100% concession on tuition fee and hostel charges for eligible students. Income slab: Below Rs. 2 lakh annually.
- EWS Category: 50% concession on tuition fee and hostel charges. Income slab: Between Rs. 2 lakh to Rs. 4 lakh annually.
- MCM (Minority Community Member): 30% concession on tuition fee and hostel charges. Income slab: Below Rs. 1.5 lakh annually.
Application for financial aid must be submitted during the admission process or before the start of each academic year. The selection committee evaluates applications based on income proof, caste certificates, and other relevant documents.
Payment Procedures & Refund Policy
All fees must be paid by the specified deadline to avoid late penalties:
- Payment Deadlines: First installment by 10th August, second by 10th January, and third by 10th May.
- Late Fee Calculation: Rs. 500 per day after the due date.
- Refund Policy: Refunds are processed upon withdrawal with a minimum deduction of Rs. 2000 for administrative costs. Withdrawal requests must be submitted in writing with supporting documents.
